Problèmes techniques icone

Two technical problems occured this last couple of months. A cable was cut on the network of France IX dark fibers’ provider mid-December and as a result Telehouse-2 POP was isolated for 3 hours. Although this was a human mistake, and more importantly which happens rarely, France IX decided to reinforce its infrastructure and is currently working on alternative physical backbone links to prevent this from reoccurring.

In addition to that, there was a failure on Brocade’s equipments in use in Telehouse-2 POP, on the 2nd of January. The dysfunction was solved by rebooting a specific router. However jointly with the vendor, France IX is seeking for a permanent solution.

ARCEP public consultation

The ARCEP - the French regulatory agency for the electronic communications and the post offices - launched a public consultation to know the opinion of the telecommunications' players on a project of collecting quarterly information on the technical and pricing conditions of interconnection and data routing.

As this project could have a significant effect on the French peering market, we ask our members and all concerned parties to let the ARCEP know their point of view on that matter before the 17th of February.
